What applies in Delhi-NCR
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) regulates DG set use across Delhi-NCR. DG sets of 125 kVA and above are expected to run with an approved RECD or on dual fuel, especially during GRAP restrictions.
What inspectors usually ask for
- Proof that the RECD comes from a CPCB-listed vendor, with the ARAI or ICAT certificate for your capacity.
- Installation and commissioning records.
- Emission test results after installation.
- Maintenance or AMC records.

Frequently asked questions
Do all DG sets in Delhi-NCR need an RECD?
Not all. It depends on capacity, engine norm and the current CAQM and the DPCC / state boards circular. Generators that already meet CPCB IV+ norms are generally treated differently from older sets.
Is Novorbis on the CPCB vendor list?
Yes. Novorbis Itus appears on the CPCB RECD vendor list (as of 30-06-2026).
